It's not over but it might as well be
Tonight is Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final and Washington is coming into Vegas with a chance to do something that they had never been close to, and that is winning a championship. The only other appearance in the Cup Final for the Capitals was a four-game sweep at the hands of the Red Wings at the second half of their repeat. Heading into the series Washington had won the same amount of Finals games as Vegas in their inaugural season. But this team seems destined to finish this series off in the next game or two. If Vegas wins I will eat my words but they seem to have lost their magic from this entire season. The reason I'm so confident in the Capitals is that the city of Las Vegas has already planned a parade for the Golden Knights whether they win or not.
There is a point where confidence and a sense of conceding don't really coincide. So get ready for Alex Ovechkin to lift the cup sooner rather than later and Evgeny Kuznetsov bird celebrations all summer long.
