NBA Finals Game 1- Miami vs LA Lakers

Tonight is game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and LA Lakers from the bubble in Orlando. The Heat was the 5 seed in the east when they swept the Indiana Pacers in a convincing fashion. After which they took out not only the number 1 team in the east but also the entire league in the Milwaukee Bucks and looked like the best team in the playoffs heading into the Eastern Conference Finals. In a very even series, they took down the Boston Celtics in 6 games becoming one of the lowest seeds to make the NBA Finals since the 1999 New York Knicks. The Lakers' path looks a little bumpy round to round but also gained momentum and form throughout each series. After losing the first game in the first round against the Portland Trail Blazers (causing the outrageous Charles Barkley claim) and Houston Rockets but went on to win the next four games in each series in convincing fashion. The Denver Nuggets were not the team the Lakers expected on paper for the Conference Finals. But this Nuggets team will be remembered for coming back from multiple 3-1 deficits against the Utah Jazz and the highly favoured Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers did go up 3-1 in the conference finals causing those to wonder if the Nuggets could do it again. But this Lakers team and specifically their stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis were able to eliminate Denver before they could mount a monumental comeback. This is a fascinating matchup minus who the teams are and the history between players, coaches, and executives. The Heat will rely on their starting lineup of Goran Dragic, Jimmy Butler, Duncan Robinson, Jae Crowder, and Bam Adebayo along with key bench players in Tyler Herro, Andre Iguodala, and possibly Kelly Olynyk. While the Lakers are relying on LeBron James and Anthony Davis while their depth pieces are a question mark with Rajon Rondo, Alex Caruso, Danny Green, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, Markieff Morris, Javale McGee, and Dwight Howard. The Lakers have the two best players in the series but do not possess the depth of the Heat and will need to piece minutes together. It will be a thrilling series of chess moves to decide a champion in this unique season to say the least.
