2018 NBA Awards

Tonight is the NBA Awards which means I'm going to try to predict them because I'm dumb but here it goes anyways. Coach of the Year: Brad Stevens, Boston This is most likely a default for me because I have an undying love for Brad Stevens and his ability to make any player efficient in his system. Snyder was able to bring the Jazz back to the playoffs with Gordon Hayward but Stevens also lost Hayward moments into the season and then also lost Kyrie Irving and still managed to have a successful season. Dwane Casey might win but he also got fired from his job so his name should be taken off the ballot because of the fact he would win the award for the team he is no longer with. Most Improved Player: Victor Oladipo, Indiana This guy has come from being the 2nd overall pick by the Orlando Magic then traded for Serge Ibaka and traded yet again after only one season for Paul George. He landed in Indiana with zero expectations with the team now expected to tank after giving up...

2018 NBA Mock Draft

My disclaimer today is that I make this mock with no trades because I will now have an easy built-in excuse so here are my predictions for tonight's first round of the NBA Draft. 1. 2018 NHL Awards

Tonight is the NHL Awards and the excitement just isn't there. But even if no one cares I'm still going to give my picks for the awards even though I will still get them wrong.  So let's start with the locks meaning the awards that were already won: Art Ross: Connor McDavid Rocket Richard: Alexander Ovechkin William Jennings: Jonathan Quick These awards are given out for really no reason because we know that they won as soon as the regular season ended. Now let's move on to the awards that are actually a choice. Vezina Trophy: Pekka Rinne It's his award to lose just in the fact his regular season was so good and the Predators won the presidents trophy even though I doubt he is the best goalie on their team now this regular season award should be his. Frank J. Selke: Sean Couturier I just wanted to be different here this award has been a revolving door of Bergeron, Toews, and Kopitar so let's get Couturier this award even though it will probably be ...

It's not over but it might as well be

Tonight is Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final and Washington is coming into Vegas with a chance to do something that they had never been close to, and that is winning a championship. The only other appearance in the Cup Final for the Capitals was a four-game sweep at the hands of the Red Wings at the second half of their repeat. Heading into the series Washington had won the same amount of Finals games as Vegas in their inaugural season. But this team seems destined to finish this series off in the next game or two. If Vegas wins I will eat my words but they seem to have lost their magic from this entire season. The reason I'm so confident in the Capitals is that the city of Las Vegas has already planned a parade for the Golden Knights whether they win or not. There is a point where confidence and a sense of conceding don't really coincide. So get ready for Alex Ovechkin to lift the cup sooner rather than later and Evgeny Kuznetsov bird celebrations all summer long.
